The G933 Artemis Spectrum from Logitech strikes the perfect balance between affordable and top-tier wireless performance.
You are smart enough to know that a great headset is an important part of gaming because without it, your performance will suffer and that’s not acceptable if you are a dedicated gamer.
Therefore… is the Logitech G933 a good choice? There are many people who praise it, but are they right or is it just marketing hype?
This article has the purpose of letting you know everything about this gaming headset – both the good and the bad – so you can make an informed decision. Now be my guest and enjoy this detailed review!
As usual, let’s start with a nice and brief summary.
As you can see, based on this quick summary, it is an excellent gaming headset. It has got attractive and modern looks, which are coupled with a great quality of sound and a flawless wireless performance. Which is surprisingly rare, a good wireless headset is not that easy to come by.
It is obviously not one of the cheapest headsets on the market but Logitech does grant you actual value for money with this one. Although, likely not the best choice if you are on a tight budget.
But if you still have questions and doubts, then worry not, because right below you will find a very detailed analysis.
A Serious Analysis: Sound Performance and Design
In order to find out the answers, you are looking for it is mandatory to do a serious and detailed analysis. Therefore, just keep reading in order to discover everything about this headset.
The Design and Aesthetics:
A gaming headset needs to have a great performance, but it doesn’t hurt to look pretty cool as well, and that’s something that the Logitech G993 delivers in the right proportion.
Although it may be a bit bulky for some persons, it looks and feels pretty sturdy. Moreover, it looks very professional and elegant. It has an excellent buttons layout which is easy to reach and use, even in the middle of a game. At least once you get used to the layout.
But there’s a feature that makes it especially attractive: It comes with customizable RGB lighting. You can choose between 16.8 million colors which will illuminate the logos on the facing sides and the strips on the rear of each ear. Just customize it to your own liking and it will look badass!
The RGB feature does not make the headset better per say. But if you want to create a fantastic looking gaming setup then it is a really nice feature. Especially if you already are in possession of a few Logitech products, seeing as you can sync them together and give them similar LED patterns and colors.
I must say that it is one of my favorite headsets in terms of aesthetics, but now it’s time to talk more about the design.
Comfort
Is it comfortable? Of course, and it is suitable for extended gaming sessions. The unique con is that it may be a bit too tight for some people, so take this into account. Yet, I can confirm that it is pretty great for longer gaming sessions.
The coffin-shaped ear cups certainly help to make it more comfortable. Your ears will fit perfectly but will give them enough room to breathe, which is perfect for long gaming sessions.
The soft fabric of the ear cups really add plenty of value to it regarding this aspect, because it doesn’t hurt your ear, to the contrary, it keeps them safe and comfortable.
All in all, in terms of comfort, it is a clear winner. It won’t make you feel uncomfortable even if you spend many hours using it.
Now it is about time to review its performance.
The Performance: Reviewing the Sound Quality
A headset can look badass and be super comfortable, but if it doesn’t provide a good sound quality, then it is useless.
Fortunately, the Logitech G933 delivers an excellent sound quality, which makes it perfect for all games out there.
Great Sound and Fully Customizable:
The surround sound will deliver an amazing experience, especially in FPS games where you need to be aware of everything that is going on. Thanks to it, in games like Call of Duty and CS:GO, you will be able to hear the footsteps and gunshots clearly, likely the most important piece of gaming gear for fps gamers besides a great fps mouse.
But what I really like about this headset is that it suits all games – FPS and MOBA alike – because you can customize the sound.
Let’s take a look at the buttons layout:
- Wireless On/Off Switch
- G3: it is programmable and will cycle through EQ settings
- G2: It is programmable, and is set by default to turn on/off the surround sound feature
- G1: programmable, will cycle through the lighting settings
- Microphone mute
- Volume wheel
As you can see the layout is quite good, and it comes with three programmable buttons you can customize to your needs.
The software allows you to customize everything you need, and yes, it comes with MOBA, FPS and Flat presets. Moreover, you can also tailor the EQ to your own needs.
A great sound quality which you can customize according to what you expect and want. What else could you ask for? Moreover, the software is very easy to use, and as mentioned, it comes with presets, so you can simply use them and save yourself the effort of customizing it.
The unique thing I would criticize is that the sound isolation could be better. Although it is not a major problem, it is still present and may be a concern for some gamers.
Flawless Wireless Performance:
But well, it also comes with a high-quality wireless performance, which is one of the most attractive features of this headset. It won’t suddenly disconnect and leave you totally exposed to your enemies. It will remain connected to your computer till the battery life runs out.
Does the quality of sound differ from the wired version? Not even a bit. It is the same quality but coupled with an amazing wireless performance, which allows it to cover a great range. For example, you can walk 30 feet away from your PC and it would not disconnect nor affect the sound quality. Only real downside is that the wired version of this headset is considerably cheaper.
The unique thing I’d criticize is the battery life, which could be improved. Although it offers 10-12 hours of battery life, depending on which features you use. We did expect a bit more for a headset of this price class.
And finally, it is super compatible. It will work equally well on your PC and PlayStation without problems. You can connect it to any device and it will work pretty well, giving you an excellent quality of sound.
A Decent Microphone:
I won’t go to the extent of labeling it as an amazing mic, but it is pretty decent. The frequency is spot on and will allow you to communicate with your team easily.
The unique thing that you need to take into account is that it catches a bit too much background noise. For example, if you have a bit of music playing in the background, then the rest will hear it, even if it is very low. This is a big issue if your gaming station is in the middle of a living room with tons of background noise, but otherwise, you’ll be just fine.
Other than that, the mic gets the job done.
How Well Does It Compare?
Now it is time to compare it against other great and popular headsets on the market.
Logitech G933 vs. G633:
There is not much to compare here. They are essentially the same thing, just that the G933, the newer version, comes with a flawless wireless performance, whereas the G633 is a corded gaming headset.
They come with the same software, same features, and the same great performance. But if you want something cheaper, then the G633 is the way to go. Although, if you are a fan of wireless headsets, then the answer is clear: buy the 933.
Logitech G933 vs. ASTRO A50 Gen 3:
Now, this is a more interesting comparison.
For starters, the ASTRO A50 Gen 3 is much more expensive than the Logitech G933 (almost $300 USD).
In terms of sound isolation, the ASTRO A50 Gen 3 is much better, because it really creates an optimal acoustic seal which blocks noise coming from the outside, so you can fully focus on your game. The G933 does a good job too, but the A50 is simply top of the line.
Both of them have a flawless wireless performance. And yes, both of them look pretty well.
What about comfort? They both are pretty comfortable, and hence, good for extended gaming sessions. But there’s a point where the A50 defeats the G933: battery life. It is 15 hours vs. 12 hours, so you can easily tell the difference.
If you are a professional gamer and need an outstanding headset, then I’d recommend you to get the ASTRO A50 Gen 3, but remember that it is near $300 USD. On the other hand, if you cannot afford so much but still want a top-tier headset, then the G933 is a great choice.
Logitech G933 vs. Arctis 7:
They both are similar in many senses: Both have a good quality of sound, are comfortable and a nice wireless performance, but also have the same disadvantages.
First off, the in case of the Arctis 7, the bass is not so powerful, and the same happens with the Logitech G933.
They are also very similar in terms of prices. But if I were to pick one of them, then it would be the Logitech 6933 because the design is much better.
The sound in both of them is pretty good. And again, their acoustic seal could be better, but other than that, they are excellent headsets for a nice price. The choice here really comes down to personal preference, but if you don’t enjoy bigger, bulky headsets then you might want to give the Arctis 7 a shot.
Conclusion and Final Words:
Now that you know more about the Logitech G933, you can take a more informed decision.
I’d say the Artemis Spectrum is an ideal headset if you want a top-notch wireless headset, without breaking the budget entirely. While it is by no means cheap, it is rarely worth your time buying a budget and wireless headset.
I would highly recommend the Logitech Artemis Spectrum if you don’t mind a large headset and if you rarely have a lot of background noise whilst gaming. It is one of the best headsets Logitech has ever produced. So if you are a fan of Logitech gaming gear, then it is definitely the headset for you.
As you can see it has many advantages, and yes, also certain cons, but I’ve done my job to show you this detailed yet honest review. We have also compared it to other headsets, so you can see if it is a good choice for you or not.
