Z607: Review summary
The Logitech Z607 5.1 surround sound speakers recently launched by the brand have taken the audience by surprise. I tested the product soon after the launch and trust me; it’s 100% value for money. You can use the speaker system with your smartphone, laptop, PC, microSD cards, and many other devices. The product is especially gaining popularity among PC gamers. Thanks to the built-in Bluetooth functionality, 3.5 mm jack, and the RCA cables, the product comes with multiple connectivity options. You’ll be delighted to know that you can set up all your devices at once and use the control panel or remote to pick your devices. But, if you’re planning to connect the 5.1 surround sound setup to the cinema system in your living room, you’ll be a bit disappointed as the speakers do not allow HDMI connectivity.
The 6.2-meter-long rear speaker cable makes it easy to arrange the speakers in your room and place them appropriately for optimal and correct 5.1 surround sound. If you plan to use the 5.1 speaker system only with your PC, you can keep them on the PC table or mount them on the wall above the PC table.
I liked almost all the features and functionalities of Logitech Z607 PC speakers, and considering the price tag; it surprised me a lot. The surround sound is clear and effective. The speakers deliver great bass and powerful sound with deep and sharp highs from all audio sources. I’m a big-time gamer, and I love the powerful effects provided by the 5.1 speaker system while I’m playing PUBG. The surround sound seriously makes me feel as if I’m right there, inside the game.
Logitech Z607 – An in-depth look
Let us take a deeper look at the Z607 speakers’ performance and specifications.
Impactful audio with excellent 5.1 surround sound
The speaker is powered with 160 Watts Peak power, that makes the sound-quality amazing and enhances the performance of the speaker system. With Logitech Z607 5.1 Surround Sound System at home, you’re truly spoilt for choices. You can couple the speaker system with your PC, TV, Mp3 players, and many other devices. You can even play sound directly from a USB drive, SD card, or FM Radio. I was thrilled at the bass pumped out by the subwoofer. If you’re looking for a speaker system that can transform your stereo music into powerful sound enveloping your room, Logitech Z607 can be an ideal pick for you.
Easy to set up and arrange
The product is easy to set up and use. Once you receive the product package, all you need to do is unbox the speaker system, and you can start using it right away. The Z607 comes with a user manual in the package for your convenience, but you likely won’t need it, especially if you have set up surround sounds before. And, once you arrange the 5.1 speaker system in your room, you won’t have to keep rearranging the positions of the speakers. The long and durable 6.2-meter-long cable allows you to place the speakers optimally around your gaming PC room, living room, office, and other spaces. You can put the speakers on shelves, desks, or mount them on the walls.
For me, the most striking aspect of this speaker system is multisource usage. Different connectivity options such as Bluetooth, 3.5 mm jack, and the RCA cable allow you to connect the speaker system with a Blu-ray device, DVD player, and several other sources. You can hear your favorite music, games, news on FM radio, and do a lot more than you can imagine. I still get surprised by the different features of this music system every day.
Latest Bluetooth technology
Logitech Z607 comes equipped with Bluetooth 4.2 that allows you to enjoy the convenient wireless sound and provides you with reliable connectivity that sends data 2.5-times quicker than Bluetooth 4.1. I comfortably stream wirelessly from my bed, located approximately 13 meters away from the system.
Using the tiny remote that comes with the 5.1 speaker system, you can control the sound from any place in your room within a 10-meter range. You can play songs, pause them, skip tracks, choose input, control volume, switch radio stations, and do a lot more.
Some audio control buttons are located on the frontal piece of the subwoofer. You’ll also find an LED that displays the current volume and source of input.
The thick, booming bass provided by the speaker system allows you to enjoy the thump of beatboxing and rumbling effects in your favorite movies. The 5.25-inches bass driver comes with a 50 Watts Peak power. I sometimes sit and hope my neighbors don’t hate me for the powerful bass of my Logitech Z607 system. Their house is just next to mine, and we also share a wall. So, you can imagine!
What’s included in the package?
- I received the following items in my package:
- A subwoofer with FM radio antenna and a fixed power cable
- Five satellite speakers
- One small remote control with battery
- 3 RCA cables
- 1 3.5 mm – RCA cable
In a typical 5.1 surround sound speaker system, you have a primary speaker that sits in the center and two speakers on either side of the primary speaker – Which is exactly how the Z607 works. You have three frontal speaks, a subwoofer, and 2 in the rear, and these works perfectly together to create the immersion you would hope for from a surround sound system. The position of the subwoofer is not something to worry about, and you can place the subwoofer anywhere. However, most commonly, subwoofers are placed in a corner.
Final thoughts on Z607 Speakers
If you’re looking for a 5.1 surround sound system with high-frequency audio detailing and Bluetooth functionality, the Logitech Z607 is all you need. The reliable Bluetooth 4.2 connection and superior wireless sound make it a gem in the surround sound system space. As already mentioned above, the 160 Watts Peak power that provides impressive sound quality is unbeatable in its price range. As soon as you connect the 5.1 system to your device, you’ll hear sound flowing from every direction in your room. When I connect the speaker system to my PC, it feels like my room is getting consumed by the audio.
Logitech Z607 is a real delight for anyone looking to enhance their audio system without breaking their budget. Whether it’s for gaming, music, or just watching movies, it does enhance those experiences. It is one of the best PC speakers on the market right now, especially considering its pricing.
If you ask me about what I love the most about this speaker system, I would say “everything” apart from the tiny remote. From the extra-long 6.2-meter rear satellite speaker cable that allows you to arrange the five speakers strategically to the tiny remote that will enable you to control the system while you’re comfortably seated in your bed, everything about Logitech Z607 is very convenient and user-friendly.
Thanks for the review. After watching so many videos, this review makes it easy for me to buy this straight away.
i want to use them with my tv via bluetooth and want to know , is there real(dts, dolby…) 5.1 sound via bt or just sound from speakers
There is 🙂
Why is 5.1 on my z609 not working via BT? Or 5.1 only work via cable?
You need the cable plugged in, yes 🙂
5.1 sound does not work on pc and they do not include the extra two 3.5 mm – RCA cables needed to set it up for 5.1 surround.
how did you achieve this using only what was in the box?
Any help would be great as
i have asked all local pc shops, I’ve spoken to Logitech with no help what so ever.
Do you have all 5 speakers set up properly? And is your remote working for everything else?
do I have to buy extra cables if i want the 5.1 sound? I read that many people have an issue with this
If you’re playing from PC, the back of the soundcard actually has Aux ports right? You can just buy an aux to analog (RCA) for a cheap price. I’ve set up mine with those and it’s working. Then go to sound settings then choose 5.1 click on speaker icons then just click next, next, next then you’re good to go. 🙂
Does 5.1 works with a normal laptop? My laptop only has one 3.5mm output.
The 5.1. is not working on Windows 10
Is it better than Logitech z506 in overall performance?
We did not get to test z506 yet I’m afraid, but it is a great budget-friendly option.
Can be use on my PS4 Pro? Is the 5.1 working on it? TQ
Yes, but you will need to purchase an optical cable on the side and reconfigure some PS4 settings if you want the 5.1 to work.
Is this a good option as a 2.1 system? My brother has the Z533 2.1 system, but it doesn’t have built in Bluetooth, it also only has 120W, so looking for something slightly better, but with Bluetooth built in…
I love Logitech and am hoping I can find the right system for me;
Or am I better off buying something more mainstream when testing at the shops?
I would recommend Audioengine if you want a good 2.1 system to be honest. This one is a 5.1 and Audioengine’s 2.1s are amazing.
