- Glowing green logo might not be your thing
- Doesn’t come with a regular Jack, which means you cannot use it with your laptop or PC
Razer is well-known for their wide range of audio and gaming-specific products.
We’ve reviewed a ton of their hardware recently, including the Razer BlackWidow Elite Keyboard and the Razer Nari Ultimate.
This time we are going to be taking a look at the Razer Hammerhead USB-C Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) Earbuds, which have a ton of features. The earphones come with:
- Dual Driver Technology which offers both enhanced bass and vocal sound
- USB-C powered ANC (active noise cancellation), so background noise doesn’t interrupt your experience
- Comply Foam Tips for extra comfort
- Digital-to-Analog Converter, which is built into the device.
There is also an in-line mic and a pretty attractive Razer logo on each earbud that lights up when plugged in.
Sound – An in-depth look
As far as in-ear headsets go, the Razer Hammerhead USB-C Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) Earbuds actually produces very solid sound quality. You will find a lot worse on the market.
They won’t produce the same level of audio as a proper headset, such as the Razer Kraken, but they do have ANC, which will cut out a lot of background noise. The Dual Driver Technology also helps the earbuds to emit a deep sound that is equally good with bass and vocals alike.
Comfort – Surprisingly pleasant
The Comply Memory Foam Tips offer an extra level of comfort, and as far as earbuds go, these are pretty comfortable.
They work well for both listening to music on your commute for both short periods and extended time if you are gaming. These earbuds are as comfortable as you are likely to get with an in-ear model. They are easy to wear, won’t fall out easily and offer a snug fit for listening to music or playing games on a laptop.
Other Features
The earbuds also offer an in-line microphone so you can chat while on the go or with your friends when playing a game online.
One aspect of these earbuds that instantly stand out is the green Razer logo that lights up on each earbud. Ok, this might not be massively popular with a lot of people. If you are going to be using these for gaming at home, then this is no big deal.
If you want to listen to music in public or make a discreet phone call through the earbuds, then that’s another story. Some people think it is pretty awesome, others not so much. Although the glowing green logo is a staple of Razer products and is to be expected when buying their Razer gear.
Conclusion
The Razer Hammerhead USB-C Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) Earbuds provide a stable audio quality coupled with comfort and style. It is an excellent pick if you want reliable in-ear headphones for music or mobile gaming. However, they do not work with your PC, so be aware of that before purchasing.
The glowing green logo that lights up when the earphones are in use might not be to everyone’s taste, but it is a relatively easy thing to look past. There also can be issues with compatibility with both Samsung and Huawei phones. Even though USB-C is supposed to be universal, but this isn’t the case.
That being said, these earbuds come in at an affordable price and offer great audio, whether you are listening to music on the way to work, making a phone call, or gaming at home.
